Project Details
Description
The acronym "NERD" stands for "Benefits, Effects and Risks of Permanent Digital Availability" and refers to unbounded work behavior that is enabled and sometimes caused by digital solutions and tools. In the course of the NERD research project, an app was developed that was intended to enable uncomplicated recording of work activities outside regular working hours, to serve reflection and self-effective control of one's own work behavior, and to support to-do, priority and time management. The data on work behavior generated in the course of app use was analyzed and evaluated. At the same time, the app development and implementation were accompanied by a qualitative research setting. In the course of the project, 40 interviews and numerous focus groups and workshops were conducted and evaluated. In addition to the app usage data, data from a Lower Austria-wide panel survey was also available. The results provided valuable insights into boundaryless work behavior and working time flexibility, app usage readiness and app-based behavioral research.
