24/7-Digital

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Live-in caregivers from Eastern and Southern European countries live for a certain period in the households of persons in need of care in Austria within the framework of “24-hour care”. Even though the effort to learn German is high, communication can sometimes be challenging. The goal of the project “24/7-Digital” is to simplify communication in 24-hour care. For this purpose, the app 24h Dialog is being developed and evaluated in field tests. 24h Dialog uses selected AI-based translation functions and is designed in compliance with data protection regulations. The cared-for person, relatives, caregivers, nursing experts, and agencies can use it to translate communication content directly in chats, during video calls, and whenever needed. The app 24h Dialog is extended with KlimaFit, another development of the project 24/7 Digital. KlimaFit is a web application that provides care tips for specific weather phenomena (e.g., heat, pollen exposure) in all project languages. Additional services for the care context are also being tested. With 24/7-Digital, gaps in the portfolios of providers of nursing and care software are to be closed. The University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt coordinates the project and develops both the 24h Dialog app and the content for KlimaFit. (Funding authority: FFG)
